Bryan Franklin

Senior Partner

Bryan Franklin comes to coaching on the entrepreneur's path. Bryan founded FranklinMedia Sound Design Group in 1994, just prior to finishing he studies at the University of Southern California (USC). FranklinMedia provided sound design services for motion pictures, television and certain high-visibility computer gaming companies. When Bryan sold his company in 2000, it was in the top 20 providers of sound design services to the entertainment industry. FranklinMedia achieved an important benchmark that year when MEMENTO, a film edited at FranklinMedia, was nominated for an Academy Award for editing.

Since 2000, Bryan has coached CEOs and other senior executives in leadership, strategy and execution, in a wide range of companies. Bryan's work has focused on an often overlooked aspect of leadership, which is paying special attention to the degree to which a company follows and benefits from the leadership of its executives, rather than the surface level appearance of the value of executive leadership activities and attributes.

What Bryan says about his Work

"I'm highly results-focused. I strive for well-defined, breakthrough results for my clients and their organizations. Having informally collaborated with Marijo Franklin in the evolution of Leadership Practices, © I am a believer in the power of that body of ideas. Personal relationships and leadership capabilities are often the most useful leverage points for drastically altering business results. A hybrid between traditional management consultants and most executive coaches, Bryan focuses on solving systemic bottlenecks with interpersonal interaction (rather than policies and prodcedures).

"I work best in situations where at least some of the people in the system believe that the desired results are impossible to achieve. The first axis of my coaching is that to change the results we're getting in our lives we first need to change our minds. Chaning minds is a non-linear, unpredictable business, and therefore the impossible becomes possible and then probable in a very short amount of time. To that end, my focus with clients is first on results they want but are not getting, and second on discovering the invisible mindset that is prveneting them from having what they want.

"In addition to working with mindset, I use real-world experience with the 'natural laws' of organizational and system dynamics to ensure that the tactics taken by my clients and by myself are consistent with delivering long term desired results. I'm proud of my clients and the results my clients have attained in the past seven years.

What Bryan says about his Methodology

"Most of my time is spent one-on-one with clients, and I sometimes attend staff or other meetings to observe my client's interaction with his/her environment. I'm often asked to lead strategy or action-planning meetings, in order to achieve breakthrough results quickly and to demonstrate the effective techniques I've helped my client to discover."

Richard Greene, EVP Sales

"Bryan has a very balanced background that allows him to operate very effectively with a wide variety of people. I worked with him closely on redefining the strategic direction of CoWare when a CEO transition was taking place. He helped facilitate a company wide workshop that began the process of change for our company. He continued to follow up with us afterwards and provided excellent coaching as we moved in our planned direction. Integrity, trust, and competence are traits that I seek out in people and Bryan exudes all of the above."
